Andrew Yokel-Deliduka - Staff Geologist I

I grew up in central Washington and love being able to live, work, and adventure here. I really enjoy the professional side of geology and take pleasure in knowing I can contribute my skills to the growth of my community.

I graduated from Central Washington University in 2021 with my B.S. in Geoscience, and went on to do an M.S. at Idaho State University, where I graduated in the Spring of 2023 with a degree in Geoscience. My thesis focused on structural geology, geochronology, and mapping. A large part of my thesis work revolved around mapping a 1:24,000-scale quadrangle over the summer and fall of 2022. During this time, I hiked over 400 miles and mapped over 50 square miles.

Prior to returning to school in 2014, I worked and traveled across much of the western US to rock climb and explore nature, which greatly contributed to my love of geology. Before starting with NGA, I was a mapping assistant for the Washington State Geological Survey, where I learned the finer details of mapping Columbia River Basalts and improved my knowledge of Washington’s diverse geology.

These days, my free time is spent planning adventures with my girlfriend, which usually involve hiking, climbing, and photography.
