Raynee Coulter, GIT - Staff Geologist I
I fell in love with Geology and the stories that rocks can tell us when I was attending a Community College Geology 101 lecture. Within a year of taking that class, I was working as a Geology and Engineering Intern at a copper mine in the mountains of Miami, Arizona. I got my hands dirty for a year and three months, learning sampling techniques, classifying ore rock in the pit, and participated in problem-solving with the operations crew.
After taking time off for the pandemic, I continued my studies and graduated from Western Washington University in the spring of 2025 with my B.S in Geology. I have recently obtained my Geologist in Training Certification (GIT), and hope to continue learning and growing with the team here at Nelson Geotechnical.
I began working with NGA in the same week that I walked for my graduation ceremony, and was recently promoted to a full-time staff member in September 2025.
In my free time, I am usually going on walks and hikes with my husband, reading, or playing video games.
